Why I love Roadtrips!

Road trips are full of fun and exciting adventures with your friends or family. It is certainly a great way to relax and spend quality time with them. Road trips are also a great way to explore different places depending on the destination.

I find road trips relaxing and fun as I get to spend a lot of time with my friends and also to enjoy a good adventure. One of the recent road trips I went was to Newcastle. Newcastle is a harbour city in the Australian state of New South Wales. Its plentiful beaches are linked by the Bathers Way, a coastal walk stretching between Nobbys Beach and Merewether Beach.

The journey up to Newcastle from Sydney city takes approximately 2 hours with car. We stopped at Avoca Beach along the way to have lunch and enjoy the scenic view of the beach. Besides that, we were lucky enough to have the amazing weather that was enjoyable for picture taking sessions.

Once we reached Newcastle city, we decided to visit the Newcastle Memorial Walk. The Newcastle's Memorial Walk is a spectacular coastal walk with a personal connection for thousands of locals. The walk is located above Memorial Drive The Hill, on Strzelecki Headland (Newcastle NSW gov). During the night, LED lights would light up the pathway of the memorial walk. It was very beautiful as we were able to have a spectacular view overlooking the night lights of Newcastle city.

The last stop was to have a quick hike up to Mount Tomaree. The short walk to the summit of Tomaree Head, with 161m above the Port Stephens entrance. As we hiked up the track, we enjoyed unparalleled views of the idyllic Port Stephens and its coastlines. Also, from the top we were able to see as far as Cabbage Tree and Boondelbah islands. These nature reserves are the world's only nesting sites for endangered Gould's petrel (NSW park.gov). The view was spectacular as we enjoyed ourselves with food and drinks at the summit.

Besides having the opportunity to explore Newcastle city, I really enjoyed the short road trip as I got to spend quality time with my friends during the break.
